CONTAINER GARDENS & HANGING BASKETS

This is the time of the year when you can prepare to have a brilliant summer display of containers and hanging baskets. There is no end to the variety of plants you can use from both the annual and perennial selections.

Containers and hanging baskets will need to be watered at least once a day, every day, some even twice a day, during the hottest months. Both wind and the sun dry containers very fast. When you add the potting mix to the container, don't forget to also add some crystal rain, this swells and holds moisture for the plants. If you cannot water for a day or you forget, this will save the plants. I generally feed with liquid fertiliser about once a fortnight, or if you prefer, you can add slow release granules to the potting mix when you plant. Now it's up to you and your imagination. I have included these photos to give you some ideas.
