SCARECROW PLANTER

An old bucket with a face painted on it makes the head for this Scarecrow Planter.

The diagram shows you how it all goes together. Fit the bucket on to the pole by cutting a square hole in the bottom of the bucket. Cover the hole in the bucket with a pot turned upside down, this allows the bucket to fit onto the post without disturbing the soil inside. It also keeps soil from running down the scarecrow's neck. Then fill the bucket with soil or potting mix and plant. You can fill several buckets with flowers, vines herbs or grasses, this way you can change the head to go with the seasons. A long bolt through the bucket supports the bucket.
