A simple fencing Spiral compacts the bean-growing area and makes harvesting easy
How to convert a 20 foot row of Climbing beans into an 8 foot diameter spiral,
using a 20 foot length of heavy guage fencing netting. Use steel garden stakes
to stabilize the spiral, placing one at the opening, another at the centre, and
two more along the length where needed. Make sure when you form the spiral the
opening is wide enough to walk through.
To water the spiral you can lay soaker hose along the base of the fencing and
anchor it with heavy guage wire U's.
Plant beans on both sides of the fencing. The resulting compact bean patch is
productive and easy to harvest, especially if you leave enough at the shady
centre to place a seat.
